NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray is pleased to announce that Sgt. Charles Eaton of the Newburyport Police Department received the Trilogy Award from the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA) following advanced law enforcement training with the organization.

The FBI LEEDA Trilogy Award distinguishes exceptional individuals who demonstrate a high level of dedication to their commitment in professional development. Sgt. Eaton completed the trilogy, which includes classes on Supervisor Leadership, Command, and Executive Leadership, during a week-long series at the Hampton, N.H. Police Department from Sept. 12-16.

Sgt. Eaton has been with the Newburyport Police Depratment since 1999. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2013, and currently serves as the department’s day shift supervisor, firearms instructor and armorer.

“I commend Sgt. Eaton for his dedication to continuing his education as a police officer,” Marshal Murray said. “Sgt. Eaton wears many hats in this department, and completing these trainings only enhances his ability to lead and teach our officers.”
