NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray is pleased to announce that the Tough Warrior Princesses’ Quilt of Hope is on display at the Newburyport Police Department, as both a sign of support for women battling breast cancer and in an effort to spread awareness.
The quilt travels throughout the region to be displayed by various organizations, and is being showcased at the Newburyport Police Department on Green Street through the month of October, breast cancer awareness month.
“We’re honored and proud to be able to showcase the Quilt of Hope this month, and stand in solidarity with all those impacted by breast cancer,” City Marshal Murray said. “Spreading awareness is incredibly important, and we felt hosting the quilt was the perfect way to participate in breast cancer awareness month.”
Tough Warrior Princesses, a nonprofit based out of Amesbury, works to raise funds for cancer research, educate the public, spreads awareness about the need for a cure and supports women with cancer and their families. Brenda Haskell, a Tough Warrior Princess board member and 31 year, three time cancer survivor, crafted the Quilt of Hope in an effort to spread hope and love to those suffering from breast cancer and to honor those who have died from the disease.
