Outpouring of Support for 13th Annual Fill-a-Cruiser Food Drive

For Immediate Release

December 3, 2018

Newburyport, MA — Marshal Mark Murray and the Newburyport Police Department would like to extend their thanks to all those that contributed to the success of this years “fill-a-cruiser” food drive.  The 13th year of the food drive proved to be a successful one with many generous donations from the community.  A special thanks goes out to all the officers, civilian employees, family members, and friends that volunteered to help make this a successful event.  Some members from the local boy scouts troop were also on hand at the Salvation Army to help unload all the donations.

In all, the food drive raised approximately $9000 in donations for the The Salvation Army of Newburyport.  This included approximately $1500 in cash and gift cards to go along with approximately $7500 worth of food.  It is always humbling to see the generosity during this annual event.  Thank you!
