Dear Plum Island Reservation Terrace Residents and Abutters:
With a significant storm approaching, this morning we held a conference call with Sen. Tarr, Sen. Ives, Rep. Kelcourse, Rep. Mirra, Emergency Management Directors (NBPT & Newbury), DPS, and Councilor Zeid. We will continue to conduct regular checks on PI throughout the storm between EM, DPS and Public Safety providing updates to the residents as indicated. I have reached out to dcr regarding access to additional sand but this, if possible, would most likely occur post storm for repairs as the sand would be lost during the storm. We will continue to monitor the status of the water/sewer system and have the capacity to isolate sections of the sewer system through the recently installed diversion valves should that be necessary. EM is in direct contact with MEMA and will deploy additional resources as needed. There may be periods of whiteout conditions as we have experienced in the past causing temporary closures of the turnpike but between Newbury and Newburyport, we will make every attempt to anticipate and place an emergency vehicle on PI.
Always call 911 in the event of an emergency and below are additional points of contact for additional information-

Please be safe and know we are all working together to ensure our greatest level of preparation and communication until this storm passes, and let’s hope without major incident.
Thank you.
